I have already googled this problem extensively, I am aware similar questions have been asked here before also and I have tried all these solutions to no avail. I hope someone has a new idea as I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel.
The Situation:
This situation arose before I moved my PC but the problem seemed to disappear on it's own accord without seemingly anything done on my part.
Brought my PC to college and now it's stating a network cable is unplugged. It is the same network cable that I used at home, it works with my laptop just fine too and to be sure I tried another ethernet cable. Same problem.
I have tried reinstalling, uninstalling, disabling and enabling the driver for my network card. No dice. There is no lights at the ethernet port on my computer either.
The internet is not the problem as I am connected to it just fine right now on my laptop.
I have tried a system restore to when my PC was working but it didn't change anything either.
I have tried reseting WINSOCK and TCP/IP stack too.
I don't know what else to do? The network card tells me it is working properly yet it states that the ethernet cable is unplugged.
I have also verified that my NIC is working by pinging 127.0.0.1.
