OverviewSet in the land of Mordavia, the fourth installment of the Quest for Glory series adopts a much darker theme this time around. The hero must save the local town from a dark cult and its evil plans.

Shadows of Darkness is the fourth title in the Quest for Glory series of adventure games. What makes this specific title special is the fact that it departs from the fantasy settings of the previous three games and presents a world that is darker and more horroristic in nature. QFG4 takes place in Mordavia, a land that resembles a medieval Transylvania, but with a supernatural twist: vampires, werewolves, ghosts and various other creatures of the night exist and roam freely in this world. As Mordavia is cut off from the outside world by a swamp, the Hero finds himself in an unpleasant situation - he must explore this dark, alien world, looking for answers and a way out, while uncovering secrets about the ancient evil that haunts Mordavia.

The game, at its core, is a 2D point and click adventure title: the player looks for clues, picks up items, solves puzzles and converses with other characters to progress in the story - the only difference being the fact that the monsters encountered during the adventure must be fought manually in relatively awkward battle sequences. The game allows the enabling of an auto-battle function, which makes this slight flaw even more insignificant. Otherwise, the game sucks the player in with its unique, 'Transylvanian dark fantasy' atmosphere and provides many hours of entertainment for those willing to explore the haunted land of Mordavia.
